Here's a bit of trivia (from _Guide to the identification and ageing of Holarctic Waders_, Prater, Marchant and Vuorinen, 1987): Bill length Central toe length (with claw) Least 17-20mm 18-21mm Long-toed 17-19mm 22-26mm If you can see the central toes and they're shorter than the bill, it's not a Long-toed Stint.
