We get them every summer, showing up in late June/early July. I suspect they
are coming down from the mountains, but they could be southbound migrants.
Here they will stick around into September.

Hmmm, perhaps those are southbound?
As a kid I spent most summers at my grandparents' in El Paso.
A highlight was always the Rufous Hummers which swarmed
around their trumpet vines. They would certainly be there in
abundance by now.

Well, out last, lingering male Rufous Hummer
left two days ago, July 17. We have three widely
separated feeders and a lot of hummers so
statistically we should get a late one.
Anyone else had one near this late?
