Don Coggswell put me on to an easier way to get to “The Narrows” on Sturgeon
Lake:
Drive up Sauvie Island Road (the west side) 10 miles from the bridge. Turn
right at the sign to the Big Eddy parking lot. Drive a half mile, and park at
the lot. Walk due south along a recently improved gravel road to The Narrows.
Topo maps imply that you would have to ford several waterways, but actually
the road is in good shape over all of them.
