The Indigo Bunting pair persist south of Dayville. The male is often found perched on top of junipers, singing. When he drops down to road level, the female emerges from the bushes on the east side of the road below the rock outcropping. They both make soft "chips" to each other. Photographs taken Wednesday by O'Learys and yesterday by me. These birds are found about 100 yards below the "rock cairns" mentioned in earlier posts and about 100-150 feet up from a wide turnout.
