Folks,
On Saturday we did the North Gilliam County raptor route, 122 miles from
I-84 at Philippi Canyon, down Rock Creek, back through Mikkalo to Condon, 7
hr 24 min
We found:
19 Red-tails
3 Rough-legs
6 Golden Eagles
4 N. Harrier
21 Kestrels
1 Prairie Falcon
1 Gt. H. Owl
4 N. Shrikes
6 Loggerhead Shrikes
24 Western Meadowlarks - the first time this species has outnumbered the
next
12 Horned Larks
1 Say's Phoebe
On Sunday we did the South Gilliam County raptor route, 151 miles from
Condon, to Lonerock, Mayville, Mikkalo, to Arlington, 8 hr 9 min
We found:
11 Red-tails
2 Rough-legs
1 Golden Eagles
6 N. Harrier
24 Kestrels
2 Merlins
4 Prairie Falcon
1 N. Shrike
1 Loggerhead Shrike
