Dear Dave,
So where's this photo you told us about? I only get the Flicker page on that link. It's been great to see what people look like. If I said something in the junco thread yesterday that sounded like I was correcting you, I sure didn't intend that. Like the others, I appreciate your unpaid efforts on obols' behalf.

Unrelated to this, I've enjoyed seeing Audubon's video cams in far flung places, the Snowy Owls in Barrow, the Puffins on Seal Island (very cute fuzz ball/nestling), and the live feed from Kenya that airs from about 8:30 pm to am, our time. I hear more birds on that than I see, but last night I briefly spotted a bird with a flash of orange that is incredibly melodius. I get pretty excited when the elephants show up. But there must be a lot of birds, for the audio is quite loud without any speakers hooked up. It appears the Snowy Owls on the cam may be having to go far afield to find lemmings, and yesterday morning there was a live Q and A on the Puffin cam.

Thanks to all with postings of current nesting activity. Locally, in Tigard, on Tidieman, next to the middle school, there appears to be at least one Red Tail fledgling, judging from all the racket I heard. I was driving by, and had to pull over, it was so loud. I saw at least three mature Red Tails, which was surprising to me. A (presumed) mated pair were flying together, in very close formation at times, and even swirling around each other, which I've seen in February, but not in July before. Anyone with more experience on raptor mating behavior know about this?

Happy Birding all, Linda/Tigard

You can use the orbirds account at flickr....

   Go to www.flickr.com <http://www.flickr.com>

Log in with username orbirds and password ORBirds2013 (case sensitive).

Then just choose Upload a Photo, and go for it.

Whether this was intelligent or not, I took the initiative and
uploaded a photo of me and Kathy. So now you all know what the two
crazy plover lovers from Bandon look like. Apologies if I startle
   anyone! Lol.

   Cheers

not bird photos, birder photos. Would love to see what all you
verbose bird nuts look like. Can someone make a website where
OBOL posters send photos of themselves? I think it should be a
requirement that anyone who posts more than, say, twice in one
day, must supply a photograph of him/her self... recent... no
fair sending your high school graduation photo (unless you just
graduated...) Or maybe it should be a requirement that someone
else send a photo of you so we don't just get glamour shots. Not
that we old farts (as Joel calls us) have any glamour shots to send.

So this has to have something about birds in it? Okay, I heard
Marbled Murrelets at 3 of our first 6 stops (in Valley of the
Giants) on the Riley Peak BBS last weekend. It is so cool to
hear seabirds calling in an old growth forest. Even for an old fart.
