Folks,
We visited Fernridge wetland today from 9:30-12:30. I tramped from the
parking lot on Royal Ave, past the viewing platform, west and south to the
Barn Pond, then back to the parking lot.
We saw:
20 White Pelicans
3 Gt Blue Herons
2 Gt Egrets
5 Turkey Vultures
80 Canada Geese
25 Mallards
2 Red-tailed Hawks
1 Virginia Rail
2 Coots
3 Pacific Golden Plovers
10 Semipalmated Plover
10 Killdeer
12 Gtr Yellowlegs
4 Lsr Yellowlegs
1 Spotted Sandpiper
5 Western Sandpipers
18 Least Sandpipers
160 Dowitchers - mostly Long-billed
2 Short-billed Dowitchers
1 Wilson's Snipe
1 Red-necked Phalarope
1 distant white tern
1 Black Phoebe
several Purple Martins heard
25 Starlings
3 Savannah Sparrows
2 Song Sparrows
6 Brewer's Blackbirds
