Hi all,Today I birded with Cedric Duhalde and Peter Metropulos in various spots in the Trinidad area. The overwhelming highlight was seeing at least 4 BLACK-VENTED SHEARWATERS off of Elk Head at the first overlook that looks towards Flatiron Rock (Omenoku Pt.). I first had one bird that was pretty distant but seemed to be flying like a Black-vented and then soon after had another bird that was much closer and banked showing it's white underparts. Peter then had to Black-vents very close to shore heading north. There were probably a couple of others but they were too far out to id confidently. One PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATER was also seen soon after heading to the south. With south winds continuing A nice study of GRAY JAYS happened right at the Elk Head trail entrance with 6-7 birds present. Along Scenic Drive the highlight was a nice flock of TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS (~10) in with a flock of chickadees opposite of the Luffenholtz parking area.
