If you're finding it too easy to make mistakes when entering numbers online
into eBird by typing numbers next to species' names, consider using the Jump to
Species box in the upper right of the data entry page instead. Type the
4-letter code or just start typing the species' name and eBird will find the
species name for you. Click the species' name there and your cursor moves to
the number box next to the right species automatically. You don't need to
scroll the whole checklist that way.
Still a good idea to proof before you hit submit.
