Knute Andersson found an EASTERN KINGBIRD near his place SW of Langlois on Thursday. East winds blowing this morning in Coos and lots of smoke to the south, not sure if from Curry fires or from elsewhere? Anyhow it is 76F and climbing quickly at the house. This morning on the north spit there were hundreds of BARN SWALLOWS, tens of VAUX'S SWIFTS, lla PURPLE MARTIN, Lots of YELLOW WARBLERS, C. YELLOWTHROATS and SAVANNAH SPARROWS plus a fair number of Audubon Warblers and Orange-crowneds. Quite a few pipits in now also, been around for several days. No sign of any terns except Caspians. Time to put on the shorts! Tim R Coos Bay
