My first in Columbia County YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, singing on the east side of
the Crown Zellerbach Trail in the Scappoose lowlands. It never showed itself,
but was singing around 10 a.m. in the thicket close to where Miller Road
intersects the trail. There's masses of blackberry as well as shrubby willows,
a pond nearby and cottonwoods. Walk on the trail from Miller Road slowly toward
the wetlands, and hopefully it will be singing.
