This is east of Coquille several miles. Diane said they saw it on Sunday the 17th at 10AM. They looked for it again this weekend but could not refind it. She described it real well and has seen the species this summer over in the K-Falls area. I think there is one ancient record for Coos previously. Are there any records from other coastal counties in Oregon? I am wondering if this species has been found much anywhere in W. Oregon during November (away from the Cascades)? Birds of Oregon calls it a casual vagrant west of the Cascades, but I am thinking it is way rare west of the Coast Range- anyone know of recent records? Seems like YB Sapsucker is more common. They did consider that species also, but said the belly was way to yellow amongst some other observations. A stunning find, Tim Rodenkirk Coos Bay
