T'was a brutal day since I was stuck in the office. It hit 70F at the
airport today, a new record high for N. Bend. No rain either. I was able
to go over to Pony Slough at lunch time and at the south entrance where the
gate is, I found a PALM WARBLER. Lars Norgren and Company found one there
on the Coos Bay CBC and another further in the airport area. Guess I hit
it at just the right time as I hadn't seen one on several other attempts.
We had three on the CBC including one in Charleston that Hendrik Herlyn and
Oscar Harper found. Always a pleasure to see them.
Later in the PM on the causeway out to the N. Spit I saw a distant all
white gull that looked pretty good for GLAUCOUS, I didn't have my scope
with me though, so can't say for sure.
We hit 70F one day last January also, pretty dang nice!
