Today the COOPER'S HAWK was parked in the middle of the willow tree in my backyard for at least an hour. It looked like it was preening part of the time, but it may have been feasting on a bird as well, but it was hard to see through the leaves. I have not seen LESSER GOLDFINCH for some time in my yard and so I was surprised today to observe a parent feeding to young juveniles. They must have nested close to this location. John F.
