Hi, Chuck Philo just telephoned and reported that he saw a first year Chestnut-collared Longspur perched on a rock across the road to the south of the "Gull Puddle" this morning at 8 AM (Nov. 25). The Gull Puddle area is the often wet area near the west edge of large parking area along the Yaquina Bay South Jetty about 0.6 mile west of the Yaquina Bay Bridge where gulls often linger. Chuck was able to study it and noted that it matched the plumage of a first-year Chestnut-collared Longspur in Sibley's. -- Range Bayer, Newport, Oregon OBOL archives: www.freelists.org/archive/obol Manage your account or unsubscribe: //www.freelists.org/list/obol Contact moderators: obol-moderators@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
