PS- In 40+ years of feeding hummingbirds in Carver OR I've never had a
Calliope at a feeder, in spite of long years of wishful watching; and in
the last 5 or so years, many dozens of Annas and Rufous simultaneously.
One spring I briefly saw a female Calliope flyby. Really small. 'Tic'. Or
so I thought. If you believe that one, Ill tell you about my Condors.

Kenn Kaufman, many years ago, stated that (for instance) a black
Red-tailed Hawk should not be called
a black-phase bird. It isn't going through a phase, it's always black.
It should be called a black morph.
With that in mind, this bird might(?) be called a calliope-phase Anna's
Hummingbird. Or not.....
