Given the date, the Burrowing Owl that we (Adrian, Hendrik, Oscar, Jamie and I) found on Sunday was probably a migrant. It wasn't clarified in Oscar's post, but we flushed the owl from the edge of a roadside ditch after dark (we saw it in the headlights). Driving roads in good habitat after dark might be a good strategy for finding Burrowing Owls in the Willamette Valley; I know that's a good way to see them east of the Cascades.
