Hey All - I birded Whitaker Ponds off of NE Columbia Blvd & 42nd Ave. in NE Portland Sunday the 24th 3:30 - 5:30 PM. It was very birdy ! Highlight was a Black Phoebe fly catching on the the exposed logs/branches on the muddy northeastern corner of western most lake, near the sitting bench off of trail. This was the birdiest spot of the area, trees were dripping with Butter Butts( molting ?), Kinglets, Chickadees, Anna's ( no Rufous yet), Towhees, Bushtits, Creepers, etc etc. I had a probable Black Phoebe last Monday, but couldn't confirm because of the distance ( Far east end of east lake/pond) . Could be the same bird.
