Some of you are familiar with the Birding Oregon Site Guide found at
http://www.birdingoregon.info/. For those of you not aware, this is a
site that lists over 1100 places to bird in Oregon. In addition to
detailed site descriptions, you can find contact people for each county,
two kinds of county checklists (one field list that has the rarities
removed and one complete list that includes all the species reported from
that county) and a whole bunch of other maps and informational stuff.
For those that use the guide, you may have noticed glitches on several of
the pages. The software we used to make the site is becoming obsolete and
is the cause of most glitches. Several people have (very kindly and
respectfully) complained about these problems. This note is to inform the
group that we are in the process of rebuilding the website using software
from this century. This process is done completely by volunteers (Ted
Groszkiewicz is doing most of the heavy lifting) and will take some time.
We are probably looking at the end of summer before we make the
announcement. We are rebuilding the East Cascades Audubon site at the same
time and it will come on board at the same time.
In the meantime, the old website above will stay open to serve Oregon
Birders. Contact me directly if you can't find what you need. Thank you
for your patience and I'm sure the new site will address most concerns.
