hi all ... Gene and I headed out to the Astoria area today to look for the
Tropical Kingbird and then to Seaside Cove for the Long Tailed Duck ... both
birds were mentioned over the weekend by Mike P. and Lee C. ... unfortunately
we found neither ... our "bird of the day" however was the Clay-Colored Sparrow
on Wireless Road ... same place as previously mentioned -- across from some
pens ...
Seaside Cove was full of scope-view Scoters (Surf, White-Winged), Scaup, and
Harlequins ... hundreds of them spread out across the Cove ... if there was a
Long-Tailed Duck in there we didn't spot one ...
