Mike et al., I wasn't even aware of the South Bend, WA bird. It appeared while Shawneen and I were in Texas. Looking at the photos that you provided, it seems to be somewhat similar in appearance to the bird we saw today. The bill thickness and slight curvature seem quite similar.
