Hi Stefan, When you were looking at this gyr, did it appear brown, as it does in your photos? This bird appears brownish to me----but it's an adult---and adult grey gyrs, are, well, grey. I have seen many gyrfalcons, especially greys, and I've seen only one other that looked like this one. Unless I'm seeing some coloration that's not really there, this brownish adult is quite unusual.
