I am the LASO for our agency. My roll primarily is understating and enforcing
CJIS policy, setting our own policies to meet requirements (media disposal,
physical access, etc). This is primarily from a technical perspective. I am
also the primary contact for reporting CJIS incidents. In Lake Oswego, we have
three "agencies" accessing CJIS, Police, Court and City Attorney. Since we are
one organization and IT supports them all, it makes sense for me to be the
LASO. Our TAC resides in PD, our 911 center to be specific.

Hi everyone,
For those of you that have organizations that work with CJIS data, I was
wondering who (what position) is appointed as your LASO for your organization,
is it in IT or elsewhere? What roles/responsibilities do they oversee as the
LASO?
Thanks!
