We archive everything, no user initiation required. I don't believe it is
realistic to rely on users to categorize and organize their mail to comply with
the various retention schedules. Even if they could comply consistently, they
would spend a lot of valuable staff time doing so, and storage media is cheaper
than staff time. We keep everything indefinitely (to be sure we meet the
longest of the required retention periods) so we don't have to worry about
categorization.

Sorry Don we don't at the City of Salem, but I would like to ask a follow-on
question. For those of you who are doing e-mail archiving, are you archiving
every email or did you train your users to archive e-mail based on content?
Behind the scene archiving or user initiated archiving.

Subject: [oagitm] Email Archiving

We have an MS Exchange 2003 Server/MS Outlook 2007. I am looking into some
email archiving solutions (MX Logic and ARCmail).

Does anyone have experience with these two programs? What other email archive
solutions are you currently using/would you recommend?

Thank you for your time
