Hi,

There is a ticket regarding this somewhere. Note that this will require a
lot of testing and taking care of corner cases (updating between snapshots,
for instance). The person (or a group of developers) working on this feature
must be familiar with add-on infrastructure, update procedure and be able to
communicate with add-ons community (and should not rush, as this project
will take at least two months to get it right).

Oh. Cool. BTW, maybe we should look at baking update functionality into the
addon infrastructure, I.E. including in core a module for detecting addon
url's for updations of addons(please forgive me for my use of a non-existant
word there). I don't know how we could ensure that updates are secure
though, but maybe community supported addons only could update, and they
would have to register a certificate with addons.nvda-project.org or
something.

Somehow, the web server (for my website at nvda-kr.org) thought that
.nvda-addon files were text files (Drupal is partly to blame), which didn't
work right for Firefox users. To work around this, I've created a subdomain
to host SPL add-on files, and this resolved the issue (had to modify
.htaccess to let the web server know that .nvda-addon files are in fact zip
files). In fact, the directory structure for spl.nvda-kr.org was inspired by
addons.nvda-project.org except it is specialized for SPL add-on.
