Obituary for Paula Teeples

Paula Murphy Teeples, 79, of Irvington died on December 2, 2013. She was born
in Annapolis, Md. on May 30, 1934.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Clinton Teeples; three sons,
John Charles Teeples and wife, Amy of Reston, Va., Paul Thomas Teeples and
wife, Grace Kimberly of Richmond, Va. and Joe Prince Teeples and wife, Kimberly
of Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary, William , Moss and
Charlotte; and a sister , Joann Langrock of Salisbury, Vt.

Paula's early childhood, as a military daughter, was a patchwork of travel and
a crazy quilt of education. She was a stay-at-home Mom until all of the boys
were of school age. Then she became a teacher's aide, later a clerk at National
Science Foundation and then a Legislative Clerk at the House of
Representatives' Committee on Science and Technology. In that job she met many
of the U. S. astronauts, plus some Russian ones.

Paula and Tom retired to the Northern Neck in 1991 where she became involved in
raising ducks and geese, earning an honorary title of "Mother Goose". She also
was active in many volunteer positions, including the Tavern restoration in
Heathsville, the Tavern Quilt Guild, the Rivah Quilters, the Women's Club of
White Stone and the Historic Christ Church.

A one sentence description for Paula would be: "She never met a dog she didn't
like."

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to RWC Foundation, 132 Lancaster Drive,
Irvington, VA 22480 or Rice's Hotel/Hugletts Tavern Foundation, P. O. Box 579,
Heathsville, VA 22473.
