Hi Reta,
We had a lovely time at our Annual Picnic/First Audubon Club meeting of
the year, which was held this past Monday evening at Belle Isle State Park.
The weather was beautiful, sunny and cool with a nice breeze to keep the
mosquitoes away. Our president, Paula Boundy, greeted everyone. Our
Birdwalk, led by Frank Schaff, netted 17 birds for 9 Club Members. The list is
as follows:
Mourning Dove, Carolina Wren, Northern Cardinal, Belted Kingfisher, Fish
Crow, American Crow, Laughing Gull, Great Blue Heron, Wild Turkey, Great Egret,
Bald Eagle, Eastern Wood Peewee, (a great look), Northern Flicker, Chipping
Sparrow, Indigo Bunting, Black and White Warbler, and a Red-bellied Woodpecker.
A good time was had by all! Looking forward to our October meeting and
Birdwalk.
