A service of the Northern Neck Audubon Society---
Greetings to Bluebird Lovers. There is a bluebird box trail at Belle Isle
State Park that needs weekly monitors beginning in mid-late March through early
Sept. Usually, the monitoring is done in the morning around 8 or 9am and takes
about 2 hours including the tally. The trail is rather sprawling from wooded
sites to beach front [including 5 nuthatch boxes] so monitors are allowed to
use the parks John Deere 'gator'. It is great fun to drive and if you want to
drive, we will train you on its operation.

Each week requires one driver and one rider who take turns monitoring the boxes
as agreed upon. There is a kit with tools and sheets for tally. Photographs
are desirable if there is interest & talent. During monitoring, sightings of
other wildlife are frequent...interesting, amusing, etc.

If you are interested in joining this 2013 monitoring season, or have
questions, please respond by e-mail to Paula Boundy

Thanks, Paula
