As you may know, the recent Iraq War took a tremendous tool through fire
and looting on the museums and libraries of Iraq. The American Library
Association has been involved in this issue even prior to the war in
attempts to warn the United States military and government of the dangers
to these institutions in the event of a war. Now the American Library
Association has developed a website to provide information about the
restoration efforts for these cultural heritage resources of Iraq.

Home | Our Association Offices | International Relations
ASSISTANCE TO IRAQI LIBRARIES
<http://www.ala.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Our_Association/Offices/
International_Relations2/Iraq.htm>

and here is a more compact link for those who get out of breath typing
these long URLs

http://makeashorterlink.com/?N34736954

Content available on this page at this point includes these hyperlinks:

ALA joins the international library community in assisting the Iraq
National Library

Heritage Emergency National Task Force Meeting on Iraq

UNESCO Recommendations to Safeguard Iraqi Cultural Heritage

LEARNING BEGINS AT BIRTH
The author, June R. Oberlander, of the new 4th
edition of the early childhood developmental parenting
resource, SLOW AND STEADY GET ME READY,
answers preschool questions on the website below.
This inexpensive international best-selling book helps
maximize the intellectual growth of young children
(birth to age 5) to prevent them from being left behind.
It also helps children with special needs.
