Free security alerts launched
The Australian Computer Emergency Response Team (AusCERT) has announced a 
new security alert service. The free service will feature timely 
information about computer vulnerabilities and methods of combating network 
attacks. "Because our time zone is some 10 hours ahead of Europe and up to 
15 hours ahead of the United States, we are often affected first," said 
Attorney-General Daryl Williams. "The service will be especially helpful 
for small to medium size enterprises that may not have that expertise." The 
service, which should be operational in three months will also support 
incident reporting.
