The U.S. Department of Energy Carlsbad Field Office (DOE/CBFO) makes
training/ed material packages available to businesses, government agencies,
educational institutions, non-profits, consultants, students, and citizens
at no cost to recipients through a federal knowledge sharing program.

A new assessment tool, the Management Assessment Tool (MATool), assists
managers evaluate the effectiveness of their sections, departments, or
companies is now available for download.

The MATool uses a series of a total of 114 questions in 11 categories to
systematically identify areas for organizational improvement. The tool
provides a mechanism to establish improvement actions, improvement action
"owners," and targeted completion dates.

The contents of this tool are based directly upon industry research into
behaviors and conditions that cause organizational problems.
