BAK ANSA

Bak Ansa is a new newsletter, written in Jamaican Creole in the
Cassidy/LePage orthographic system which will be launched in February 2003.
The aim of the newsletter is to get persons to use the language for all
types of discourse on topics including history, politics, religion, culture,
food, literature, philosophy etc. This will not exclude lighter
contributions (jokes, riddles, songs, etc).

The newsletter should be a good resource in future for linguistic research
since it will represent all varieties of the Creole i.e. basilectal to
acrolectal, and I invite all persons with an interest in Jamaican to write
to th editor at bakansa@xxxxxxxxx and ask to be added to the group (the
newsletter will be distributed via the internet) in order to receive the
newsletter. We also look for contributions in Creole which will help to
further our objectives.
