Good news for Java learners, job seekers, certification exam takers, employee
training managers, and US school applicants / current students! A Professor of

Computer Science in the University of Maryland system is now offering a new
3-week online Java training program for free! The program is offered every
month, with the next one starting April 30, 2003. It is titled "Java for
Beginners" -- there's no need to have any previous knowledge of programming or
HTML. If you do have prior programming knowledge in other languages or even in

Java, this training provides a solid foundation in Java -- it is loaded with
plenty of hands-on exercises, assignments, quizzes and exams. In addition, you

participate in online discussions with the Professor and get immediate feedback

on your work and/or answers to your questions. The training also prepares you
to
take on more advanced programs later, to be offered by the same author soon,
such as Advanced Java, Java Server Pages (JSP), Enterprise Java Beans
(EJB), etc.

No need for admission or GRE/TOEFL or bachelor's degree. No need to buy any
textbooks or software -- all required materials will be provided as part of the

training program! Plan to make the payment at least a day before the class
starts and you are all set to go!!

The training begins with fundamentals of Java at a "grass-root" level and
teaches about data types, variables, flow control, and loops. You then move on

to learn topics such as classes, objects, methods, arrays, strings, variable
scope, classes, objects, and more!
