************************************************************** Net Happenings - From Educational CyberPlayGround ************************************************************** From: "Eileen Bendixsen" <eb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <nasaquest@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sun, 09 Feb 2003 23:47:17 -0500 Subject: [NASA Quest Discuss] Scientists Available to Answer Student Questions This Tuesday, February 11th will be our first LIVE FROM THE AURORA broadcast, AURORAS - LIVE WITH A STAR, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. The broadcast will be carried on participating PBS stations and on NASA TV at 1:00 p.m. and in the Education File at 2-3 p.m. 5-6 p.m., 8-9 p.m., 11 p.m.-12 a.m., and 2-3 a.m. on February 12, 2003. Check your local listings to see if your PBS station is carrying the broadcast. Some stations tape the broadcast and show it at a later time, so if they are not carrying the broadcast contact your local station to see if they have it scheduled for a later date. Also it is possible that we could be pre-empted on NASA TV due to the Shuttle Columbia accident. The program includes information about auroras, their impact on us here on Earth, viewing auroras from the Shuttle and Space Station and more. And for all of the language arts people on the list Alaskan natives talk about tales that have been passed down from generation to generation that could really be used as part of your myths unit. The broadcast will also be carried on the web via video streaming and archived on our website after the broadcast. ********************************************************************* TEACHING TO STATE STANDARDS Are your school districts trying to teach to the state standards?
