Subject: Harvard "Cross-Boundary" E-Government Program: $1000 scholarship

We have three $1000 scholarship opportunities for those in government
seeking to participate in the "Cross-Boundary E-Government: Designing
Successful Projects" program to be held at Harvard this May 12, 13, and 14.
Maybe one of these should be yours.

The scholarships will go to the top three examples we receive of existing
or planned cross-boundary e-government initiatives. While public-private
partnerships will be explored at the workshop, the examples we are looking
for here should involve public-public partnerships -- i.e., cooperation
among multiple independent public programs, departments, and/or
jurisdictions.

Good examples should illustrate lessons of good practice on cross-boundary
work that would be instructive for those seeking to design or implement
similar initiatives. Please attach a description of your example in 500
words or less (but footnotes and/or web links are acceptable) to your
application and email it to 3e_project@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or fax it to
617.495.8228.

The general application can be downloaded at
http://www.ksg.harvard.edu/exec_ed/3e.

The deadline for submissions is Monday April 14. The winners will be
announced Monday April 21st.

We look forward to your work, and good luck!

The workshop itself promises to be timely, useful, and interesting. Faculty
and speakers in addition to myself will include: Lynda Applegate (HBS),
Warren McFarlan (HBS), Dan Greenwood (MIT), Steve Kolodney (AMS), Peter
Quinn (Massachusetts), Elaine Kamarck (KSG), Hannah Riley (KSG), Ron
Heifetz (KSG), Dave McClure (CEG), Viktor Mayer-Schoenberger (KSG), Jim Van
Wert (SBA), Richard Varn (former CIO, Iowa), and Jack Donahue (KSG).

In addition, the Red Sox are in town and we promise good weather ( . . .
well, take that last one with a grain of salt.)

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Jerry
