Get a Jump on Spring by Doing Some Indoor Gardening
If you want to get a jump on spring, plant some vegetable or flower seeds
indoors. That will give you will a chance to enjoy the sweet aroma of
fresh soil along with getting your fingers dirty. It may be awhile before
you can be out in your gardens, so indoor planting will be good therapy.

out in your gardens, so indoor planting will be good therapy.

There are several reasons that we plant seed indoors. Here are a few:
.
Many plants have a longer growing season than what our climate allows.
For example, peppers generally require a longer season to produce fruit.
Many perennial flowers, such as cannas or tuberous begonias, wont provide
much of a show unless they are started indoors. Tomatoes, members of the
cabbage family and even melons can use a summer extension.

Being able to get a wider selection of plants than are found at a typical
nursery. Have you ever tried to find ground cherries or yellow pear
tomatoes in time for spring planting? If not, now you can grow these
plants yourself.

If you are going to plant a large patch of something, say tomatoes, and
you want a variety of plants and lots of them, you can do it without going
broke.
