There is no denying the fact that the report is shocking. Climate change
is all set to melt Antarctica Ice Basin. This may cause water level to
rise by 13 ft.
.
A new report on climate change has shocked the world. There is no doubt
that all reports on climate change released in recent years are damning,
but this is an eye opener.
.
Merely weeks after the publication of United Nations climate panels
report, another report says that climate change may cause sea levels rise
by as much as 13 feet.
.
It says that climate change will have so much adverse impact on Antarctica
that a huge Antarctica ice basin will melt.
.
The report says that this melt ice basin in Antarctica will cause the
water level to go up by a massive 13 feet. It further says that part of
East Antarctica is vulnerable to a thaw that could trigger an unstoppable
slide of ice into the ocean and raise sea levels. According to this
report, the Wilkes Basin in East Antarctica, stretching more than 1,000 km
inland, has enough ice to raise sea levels by 10 to 13 feet (3 to 4
meters) if it were to melt as an effect of climate change.
