Police confirmed they are analysing a chilling video message believed tobe connected to the "mass murder" of six people near the University ofCalifornia.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff, Bill Brown, said at a press conference onSaturday the video, posted on YouTube and titled "Elliot Rodger'sretribution", "appears to be connected with this crime".

In the six-minute video, the young man who identifies himself as a studentin Santa Barbara, says: "This is my last video, it all has to come tothis. Tomorrow I will have my revenge against humanity, against all ofyou."

As he sits in his car recording the video, he talks about his loneliness,alienation and rage, saying, "girls gave their affection and sex and loveto other men but never to me".

"Girls, all I've ever wanted was to love you and to be loved by you. I'vewanted sex. I've wanted love, affection, adoration. You think I'm unworthyof it. That's a crime that can never be forgiven. If I can't have yougirls, I will destroy you.

"I'll take great pleasure in slaughtering all of you. You will finally seethat I am in truth the superior one, the true alpha male."

He says that although he is 22 he has never even been kissed or had sex.

Country Sheriff Brown told reporters the shooting was a "mass murdersituation", which involved two separate shoot-outs with police as theytried to stop his rampage.

Authorities were "analysing both written and videotaped evidence thatsuggests that this atrocity was a pre-meditated mass murder".

"I will slaughter every stuck up, blonde slut I see inside there ... Youwill finally see that I am in truth the superior one, the true alphamale," the young man says in the video. He then describes how he plans to"take to the streets of Isla Vista and slay every single person."

Loneliness and envy factor heavily in other videos that appear to havebeen uploaded by Rodger. In one posted May 23, he films a couple at thebeach from afar.

The rampage broke out around 9:30 p.m. Friday in a student enclave with areputation for parties. Police told the Associated Press that shootingsoccurred at several sites, resulting in nine crime scenes.

Brown called the suspect "severely mentally disturbed," saying, "This wasa premeditated mass murder," according to KEYT-TV.

GOLETA, Calif. (AP) - A lawyer says the family of a man they believe wenton a shooting rampage near a Santa Barbara, California, university calledpolice several weeks ago after being alarmed by YouTube videos "regardingsuicide and the killing of people."

Attorney Alan Shifman said police conducted an investigation andinterviewed the man. Shifman said police did not find a history of guns,but did say the man had trouble making friends.
