Good diversity and numbers continue in the High Country. I had 9 FOY species last night including 5 lifers. We are getting nearly daily late afternoon thunderstorms which keep the humidity and cloud cover up at night which might be a contributing factor for the high species diversity I'm seeing now. Also, July is the peak month at my location for species diversity. I'm now past the 550 species mark for the season and should pass 600 in the next couple of weeks if the current pace continues. 2554 Synathedon acerni (Maple Callus Borer)--LIFER FAMILY--finally, my first record for the Sessidae family 4895 Chalcoela iphitalis (Sooty-winged Chalcoela)--LIFER--interesting Crambid--caterpillars parasitize larvae of paper wasps (Polistes spp.) 6237 Pseudothyatira cymatophoroides (Tufted Thyatirid) 8547 Anomis privata (Hibiscus-leaf Caterpillar Moth)--LIFER -- J.
