Subject: [ncsc-moths] Wake County 6/17/11 to 6/29/11

Hey everyone,

I have again gone through another disk of photos. I had some good finds these
past couple weeks, and added a fair number of species to my list. I am
currently at 380 species for the year, as of the 29th (almost caught up!).
Below is my list of new moths for the year, as well as new leafhoppers,
spittlebugs, and planthoppers. I also had some new moths while at Falls Lake,
and these are marked below in blue. I have attached some images of some of the
more interesting species I had.

On another note, I at last got my Nikon camera back from the shop on the 30th.
And with that I got a new lens, a 90 mm 1:1 macro lens. It is unbelievable,
taking truly breathtaking pics of the moths, showing the tiniest details. And
with this lens, I am able to get within an inch or so of the moths, so I can
get great pics of micros. And if any of you have seen a leafhopper, you know
how tiny they are and how hard to get a clear photo of one. Well now I am able
to do so. I can't wait to show you all these pics. I will be posting them on my
flickr page, www.flickr.com/photos/hawk-eagle/. I am not sure when I am going
to post them, but if you want to check my flickr you can, as well as see all
the other moth pics I have.

Happy mothing,
Kyle
