One week into Flickr and I'm frustrated! My Mexican bird and butterfly
upload last week went pretty well, but yesterday's upload of 47 SC
butterflies was wretched. Almost all were uploaded without the cropping
and tuning- hours of TLC for naught, and I have deleted most of them. I
don't particularly like the photostream (twitter for photos?) format
either, but the number of groups devoted to nature (and every other kind
of) photography is outstanding.

What are other's experience with photo sharing sites? I'm interested in
three things: 1) improving my photographic skills and sharing beautiful
photographs of nature, 2) showing record shots of Upstate SC butterflies
and moths in checklist or Hodges' order as public information for what
occurs here. I have photos of over 50 Upstate SC butterfly and 300 moth
species, and 3) helping Jardin Botanico (where my Mexican photos were
mainly taken) to survive the Cancun to Ciudad Carmen megalopolis that is
occurring. Jardin Botanino is an oasis (tropical jungle really) in a
jungle of tourist accommodations, suburban and urban sprawl. Almost no one
else was visiting there and paying the 100 peso entry fee the three days I
visited. So sad. I will probably need to learn how to blog to accomplish
these goals or can I do it with photo sharing?

The mystery bird at the end of my Mexican wildlife set remains a mystery
with two of you saying Black Catbird and two of you saying Melodious
Blackbird. I've added a second photo, and you can read my comments about
the ID there. Still lots of butterflies unidentified, too. Please help.
