You are invited to the first ever "New Moon Mothing and Beer Tasting at the Farm" event. When: Monday 1/23/12 at 5:45 pm. (it's fine to show up late). Where: Janet and Larry's farm house at 1381 Old Boones Creek Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659 What: We will sample good and/or unusual beers (no getting drunk), check moth sheets and have a friendly chat about moths and mothing, other insects or anything about nature. No politics or religion unless someone wants to. Why: Why 1/23? That is the date of the new moon. In fact it's the date for the New Lunar Year. Why the new moon? Data indicates that moths are attracted to lights more during the new moon. Why 5:45 pm? That's sunset in Johnson City/ Jonesborough. Who: I sent this e-mail to people I thought might be interested. I included tn-moths and ncsc-moths mostly just to share the idea with other moth-ers and of course to extend the invitation. Truth is, I don't really expect many to come to the first ever "New Moon Mothing and Beer Tasting at the Farm" event. After all, it is January. But I intend to have this on most if not all the new moon dates through out the rest of the year and possibly beyond. The main emphasis is to have fun. If you come, bring one or two beers you would like share as samplers in small glasses which I will provide. We'll see where this goes from here. Please let me know if you are planning on, or even considering comming. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks Larry 423-773-9234
