Hey, folks.

I'm glad you enjoyed the article, Lance. I will try to remember to scan the
article which will allow me to post it to the lists as an attachment. Yeah,
we had a great time that night (those two nights) and I'm really looking
forward to this year's workshop and MN.

Welcome to the list, Marvin. I know you'll enjoy taking part and as Merrill
said we'll certainly enjoy learning more about the moths of a different
region.

Lep on.

Parker

Thanks, Lance. However, most of the credit should go to the lead author,
Parker Backstrom, who wrote the bulk of it and contributed all of the
photos.

I hope the article conveys the sense of excitement Parker and I shared that
memorable night. I'll check with him about posting it on the listserve.

All of the moths were recorded at lights.

Hi Merrill,

I would suggest that all participants in our group try to get a copy of
your most

interesting article in the December issue of Southern Lepidopterists' News.

"First Encounters" is a lively and in-depth study of your first Moth
Night.

I just wish that you had added whether the moths were collected at light
or

bait in the impressive list that is included in Table 1.

Again, a very nice job of describing the spectacular species of moths
that can

be found in one's own backyard.

   Good Mothing,

Lance
