My moth is pretty worn but I think some sign of that patch would still be 
visible if it were a 9057.

Ken, all the 9057 moths on MPG and Bug Guide have a distinct 
white patch in the thorax area.  I would guess yours is 9056.  Here is 
my 9057.  Even from a lateral view, you can see the white at the back of 
the tuft.
