Editing an xorg.conf file and installing the NVidia drivers is a lot like
skinning any ol' furry house pet, there are MANY ways to do it.

Can you please post the output of lspci?  It should look a little something
like this:

Also, can you please include the make and model of the flat pannel?

You're running Windows on this box too, right?  What resolution does it run
when in Windows?
