Hi Joe
Unfortunately I cannot make the class this evening as I have been delayed here at a meeting with my boss. i have to return to this meeting until 5.30pm as we have been called to the Equality Tribunal and have to prepare a submission for this on behalf of UCD.
Huge apologies for the very short notice - I should havbe been finished in this meeting at 3.30pm and would have been on my way now to the course but have been delayed and have to return to the meeting now when I finish this email. 

I am very sorry and will be at the next class - see you then.
