It is possible as I have had such a set up at my for at least one year after which I moved the iMac to another location. The coverage extended through our whole house, 2000 sq feet plus an area outside. I also did this at the Westmount Library at a meeting before Christmas were my MacBook Pro connected via ethernet to the internet and shared that connection with at least 10 other computers in the room. Some cordless phones (microwaves, speakers with large magnets .....) interfere with wireless internet routers so it is suggested to locate them not to close to one another, could that be a factor?
