Since the privacy law changed about allowing members of lists to manage theirAnd thought that in the interim, I hadn’t seen any posts at all from the list.
own subscription options directly, in the interest of controlling spam, the
Freelists listserv has had to allow more open access to our subscription
page. Previously any subscription manipulation requests had to go through the
list admin person who would extend the invite.
Everyone of you can change your own list subscription options. Everyone with
an email address has the option to join directly. So, anyone with an email
address can hit the listserv directly and make a subscription request. All of
these are still trapped and I still can manually make the subscription
active.
This week has seen a dozen bots hit the listserv. Usually there are
practically none in a month.
Just thought I'd share.
