Doug, I suggest looking in the usage precautions section of the Time
Capsule and iMac manuals. In November 2011, I purchased a La Cie CD
burner. I emailed La Cie to find out if it was OK to put objects on top
of the drive, such as a usb hub or usb thumb (jack) drives. The rep said
no because the objects could cause the drive to overheat due to the
magnetic field created (or words to that effect). He said this was
explained in the manual.
