'Contacts' on the iPhone is the mobile version of 'Address Book'. The address book in Entourage and Contacts are both databases. The information is compiled in fields, such as name, phone, address, etc. The problem arises when you sync these databases and they don't share the same designations for fields or sub-bases. Mac uses 'Groups' as a database sub-section. Entourage uses 'Category' to define the same database sub-section. The link I sent was for an app that ensures both 'Contacts' and 'Entourage' share the right data. It sounded like during a sync, your iPhone saw 'Category' attached to a contact name(Store?) coming from Entourage and decided it was irrelevant information. At the same time , it looked for 'Group'(Store), couldn't find it and left that field blank. You're integrating a Microsoft app with an Apple app. Somewhere, sometime, one of them will update and forget to include the "play nice with the other' option.

This is my best guess for what happened to your lost information, but there are always other possibilities.

Wayne,

I do not have Address Book on my computer, I deleted it. The only syncing that occurs is between the Address Book in Entourage and iPhone.

I’m not clear about what you were suggesting in your earlier email.
